Online sessions

Due to the high number of requests for psychotherapy and counseling, I have an extremely limited availability of places in my Wimpole Street office.

Alternatively, I still have some places available for online psychotherapy and counseling (via Zoom).

How do online sessions work?

Online sessions take place using specific guidelines to make sure that you can make the best out of your sessions (both in terms of efficacy and safety).

These are the platforms that I usually employ for online sessions, considering the safety and ease of use they provide:

  • Zoom
  • Cliniko,
    video-conferencing software for telemedicine.

Even for those who are not extremely experienced with video calling or video conferencing systems, online sessions prove easy to make and extremely convenient.

In order to work online, it is important that you have a good internet connection, which allows you to make video-calls and easily download videos from YouTube, Netfilx or Amazon Prime.

Are online sessions safe?

Thanks to my long experience of working online, I guarantee that all precautions will be taken to ensure that online sessions are as safe, confidential and protected as face-to-face ones.

In particular, we will prioritise sessions on Zoom and Cliniko, which is a platform designed specifically for telemedicine and conforms to particular requirements that guarantee safety and confidentiality.

Do online sessions work?

I would like to reassure you that several studies have been undertaken on the effectiveness of online sessions. Those studies clearly show that they are as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions. For example:

  • A 2014 study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders showed that online interventions to treat depression are as effective as those in person
  • Another 2018 study published in the Journal of Psychological Disorders defined online cognitive behavioural therapy as an effective health treatment and equated it with the face-to-face method for depression, panic attacks, and generalised anxiety disorder.
