While helping others, we all face some kind of obstacle in our relationships. Whether they take the form of 'resistance', conflict, frustration or feelings of powerlessness, these obstacles can negatively impact our work and can emotionally distance us from the person asking for help.
But what if what we perceive as obstacles conceal potential for growth? What if obstacles were gifts that we had to unpack in order to really get to know their content and value?
Using a highly experiential mode, we will explore how obstacles in the helping relationship can become "doorways" through which we can enter the world of the person we are helping. Furthermore, we will discover together how resistances can help us create a relationship that supports the expression of the potential for growth and change inherent in that specific helping relationship.
To help you on this path, we will make use of tools and techniques from Psychosynthesis, IFS (Internal Family Systems) and various other psychological and psychotherapeutic approaches.
